Medica provides a transition of care period for all new Medica Part D members. The transition of care window for all members is 90 days from their plan enrollment date. During the transition of care window, a member will be allowed a transition of care supply of at least one month (up to a three-month supply if residing in a long-term care facility) in the following scenarios:
- A Part D eligible drug that is not on the Part D formulary
- A Part D drug that requires a Prior Authorization
- A Part D drug that exceeds the formulary Quantity Level Limit
- A Part D drug that requires step therapy
